GoBond 2025
🗣️ HEY OKLAHOMA ARTISTS, I need your help!
We need to make our voices heard by suggesting our local constituents help support the visual arts in a BIG way.
The @cityofokc is asking residents to submit input for the 2025 Go Bond Program that will utilize city funding to support the expressed needs of our community at large.
Artists always seek more financial investment and support from institutions that heavily rely on our contributions to expand their business and beautify our surroundings.
I think it’s important to communicate with our elected officials to discuss the dire need for long-term investment in the arts, supporting artists as business owners, and develop plans for affordable housing to retain talent in our city.
I need help from Oklahoma artists to advocate for the value of artists in our state and offer input on how we can shape and support the arts now and in the future.
Below, you’ll find a HOW-TO-GUIDE on how to submit your thoughts on the city map, which can be found here: vision.okc.gov/go-bond-2025
⚠️ DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU SUBMIT ⚠️
⚠️ THE LAST STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT ⚠️
DON’T FORGET TO SEND AN EMAIL TO EVERY ENTITY LISTED BELOW NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 1, 2025👇🏾
DO YOU KNOW WHO YOUR CITY COUNCIL PERSON IS?
LOOK THEM UP HERE: okc.gov/government/city-council
THAT’S IT! It may take you 10-20 minutes to complete all of these steps, but the effort is worth the intended end result.
There is room in the Oklahoma art scene for any creative to be a successful business owner, but it’s all in how we approach getting there.
Few finding success means the environment only works for a few, and we need to implement a system that works for as many people as possible!
Even if you are not directly located in the OKC metro area, I hope that you will consider submitting your BIG dreams and ideas to this program so that we can let the government know that we are unified as one voice in demanding change and action.
I hope you’ll help me hold our institutions and the folks we elect to represent us accountable. And that means effectively communicating our needs and concerns whenever and wherever possible.
Stay strong, and help me hold the line.
